Urban Transportation
Location: All over the city.
Cost: $0.25 USD (Distance not relevant, as long as it is inside the city limits)
Within the Urban Bus Transportation System we also have two types. The blue ones are called “Bus Tipo” where you can sit down if there aren’t many people; otherwise you have to ride while standing up. The red and White ones are called “Selectivos”, in these buses you can only ride sitting down, although, there aren’t too many of these.
Every bus has a different destination and route to take, depending on where you want to go. The main streets and avenues in Quito go from north to south and vice versa. The main streets where you can find these buses are the América Avenue (If you are headed toward Mitad del Mundo or vice versa), Amazonas Avenue and Shyris Avenue (If you are headed towards the centre of the city, this are also the streets where the main shopping malls are located), Patria Avenue (If you are headed towards the south of Quito) and La Prensa Avenue and 10 de Agosto Avenue (If you are going south or north of the city). | |
