Discover nature, Discover culture. 3 Days | On this tour we will enjoy a full day with an Otavalean family, we will eat, dance and they will share with us their culture and traditions. On the next days, we will explore the folkloric market and the beautiful natural spots around.
Otavalean culture is one of the most influential and traditional in Ecuador. In this tour, we will experience a full day with an authentic local family. Our hosts will receive us in their home and we will share with them a delicious typical lunch prepared by our hostess. Sitting in a terrace, between the Cotacachi and the Imbabura, other family members will play some folkloric music while an authentic shaman will prepare a demonstration in which we can appreciate the mysticism of this ancestral ritual.
We will also visit natural places like the Peguche waterfall, the San Pablo lake, the Cuicocha lake and its islands, and the Birds of Prey Park. We couldn’t leave out the famous folkloric market, and on the way back we will visit Quitsato, a solar clock in the center of the world, also the valley of Guayllabamba where we will enjoy a delicious and traditional “locro”.
Departure Dates/Includes
Every Wednesday and Friday. Saturday on request.
Includes: Accommodation standard hotel. Transportation Bilingual guide or Guide and translator. Breakfast and Dinner. First day lunch. Entrance fees to the parks. Shaman Musical group Boat ride on Cuicocha lake for 45mins. Native guide.
Not included: Lunch on the 2nd and 3rd day. Individual “spiritual cleansing” by the shaman. Tips and personal expenses.
