Shamans, painters and blow pipes Discover the beauty, magic and diversity of the tropical rainforest located on the upper Amazon basin, overlooking the majestic Pastaza and Puyo rivers and the National reserve Sangay.
The lodge is located in the Central Rainforest of Ecuador, near “Hola Vida” reserve in the Province of Pastaza. Scattered on 96 ha of primary rain forest, this unique rainforest reserve and lodge is located on the upper Amazon basin overlooking the majestic Pastaza River, where you will appreciate Sangay national park, as well Sangay, Altar, and Tungurahua Volcanoes. You will also have the chance to see the merger of Puyo River over the Majestic Pastaza River.
Day 1
Upon our arrival we will receive a welcoming cocktail and we will proceed to check in. We will then have lunch at the viewpoint restaurant. The afternoon will be for enjoying the hotel facilities; you can relax by the pool or watch the sun go down from the viewpoint. At night, after a delicious dinner, we will gather to explain and review the next day itinerary after enjoying a delicious dinner.
Day 2
After enjoying a nice breakfast we will start a hike inside the Lodge reserve. We will first visit a natural pool for a refreshing bath, so make sure you bring your swimsuit. Afterwards we will see the “Dinosaur tree” and then hike to the shores of the Pastaza River. After lunch we will head to the HOLA VIDA natural reserve where we will visit a trail of primary jungle while going towards some beautiful waterfalls. This will take us the rest of the afternoon, so after our return we will have a nice dinner and at night a local body painting artist will do a demonstration for us.
Day 3
We will visit the “Golondrinas” waterfall where we can appreciate the flora and fauna of the region. We will then go to the Kichwa community of Kotococha, where we will enjoy a nice cultural morning with them and get to learn some of their traditions, like the use of blowgun and shamanic rituals. We will take lunch at the community. On the afternoon we will take our “tube buoys” on the Puyo river and drift down towards our lodge.
Day 4
After enjoying breakfast we will check-out and depart to our next destination.
