True to its uniqueness, Ecuador provides an amazing experience for travellers all around the world. If you are travelling to big cities like Quito or Guayaquil, you can find a wide variety of accommodation services, from 5 stars luxury hotels to laid back backpacker’s hostels. In the rural areas accommodations are more rudimentary, with the exception of some amazing luxury haciendas and resorts in hotspots around the country like Mindo, Otavalo, Baños and around the Oriente, but if you are travelling outside the usual trail be sure to keep an open mind in your accommodation standards if you prefer the high-end hotels and resorts.
Being a developing country brings us more advantages than disadvantages, from where we stand. The countryside is still bigger than the cities, which provides an amazing opportunity for outdoor activities like horseback riding, rafting, climbing, surfing, trekking and almost anything you can think of. People are easy going and uncomplicated. We Ecuadorians are laid back, friendly and hardworking fellows. Most of the travellers that visit our country are not only bedazzled by the beauty of our landscapes, but also by the kindness of our people.
Put plainly, Ecuador is a traveller’s dream. You can wake up one day next to a beautiful snowy volcano, travel the next day to a sunny, amazing beach and have “batido de coco” (coconut shakes) watching the sunset and wake up the next day in the Galapagos Islands surrounded by species not found anywhere else.
