Don’t forget to bring
Here we give you a small checklist on the general things you should bring. Please take in consideration that Ecuador is a country that has a really hard to predict weather. We advise you to contact us, or check the local weather report before traveling to Ecuador.
A lot of excitement, essential to enjoying the experience.
Always keep a passport copy in a safe place. You can also drop by our offices and we’ll store it for you, among any copies of documents you may want to keep for your safety. We don’t store originals.
A first aid kit.
A current converter if you are in countries that use 220V connections. In Ecuador, we use the standard two parallel plugs 110V and sometimes the two parallel one land connections. (socket)
Comfortable clothes.
If you take any prescription medicine that you rely on, be sure to bring enough for your trip. Medication is widely available in major cities.
An extra lock. If you are travelling to backpacker hostels and other rudimentary accommodation services it may be a good idea to bring these, as locks may be in bad shape.
Creams, mosquito repellents, sunscreen and tanning cream are widely available. If you require or use special skin products it may be better to bring them from home (if allowed by the specific migration laws in your country).
Sandals/Flip-flops.
Bathing suit.
Anti-Diarrheal pills. (Imodium or other)
Pepto-Bismol or other.
Fever pills.
Travel insurance (DON’T FORGET!)
A printed copy of our Spanish to go section. Or audio playback device with them.
Zip ties. They are great for securing your backpack and luggage when travelling by bus or short distances by plane. (zip ties)
